pouting

kc is finally starting to forgive me,
he's lying on my bed, but hes not purring
he's had a hard day today

started with him being banished from my bedroom last night, cause he was chewing on electrical cords. i hardened my heart, and wouldnt let him back in. so hes outside mewing and scratching at the door.

then, off to hte vet we go today. he wont stay in his box (remind me to get a pet taxi, maybe bum one off of mom), so i have to hold him the whole way to the vet. and in hte waiting room. all this time, hes pretty quiet, but definately not turning on his motor.

into the exam room, doc confirms KC is a he
and his assistants start pouring stuff into his ears, then shoving big long q tips into his ears and digging around. kc tolerates it for one ear, then starts fighting, so he gets bundled up into a towel for hte 2nd ear. then some more stuff gets poured into his ears, and massaged in. and oh horrors, here comes the needle. he handled that quite nicely, i dont believe he even knew it was done. doc gives me some flea medicine-- a pill, and some liquid. he also gives me a pill, cortisone he said, if KC gets sore after his shot. not to give it, if he doesnt need it. and of course im thinking, he wont need it, he'll be a tough kitty, just like me. and the bill? yikes. 75.50.

and so now its time to head home. im not at all impressed with the idea of holding him the whole way home again, so i put him in the box, close the lid again, and dump the box upside down. now he cant get out, and i have to listen to him pouting. awww, kittycat, its ok. its ok kc, im here. by this time im really feeling bad, so i stop at walmart for a few min and buy him some toys and a brush. and another litter box, one with sides on, am already tired of cleaning up litter that he scratches over hte sides. and more kitten chow. spent 30.00 bucks on him, half of that, because i was feeling bad over putting him thru torture.

and stopped at hte station. hes not been to the station before. and he just mopes around. hes not inquisitive, hes not purring, hes just moping. he lays down at my feet, and there he stays. i finally take pity on him, and bring him home. and things just get worse

he eats his purina kitten chow, and jumps into hte new litter box. but hes still moping around. hes not chasing his tail, hes not playing with his toys, so, i decide to give him the achy pill, at the same time i give him the flea pill. he doesnt like the idea of me prying open his mouth and shoving a pill in, but they both go down, easier than i thot they might. then i go out to hte kitty room, turn around, hes not to be seen, hmmm? start to sit down on hte chair, its a swivel chair that leans back, and hear this horrid squawl. and KC takes off into hte kitchen. stops under hte table, takes a few steps, and hes limping on his right front paw. oh kittycat, im so sorry. and doesnt he run, as i come after him. runs into hte dining room, and up on the chair, under the table cloth. limping the whole way. im sorry, im sorry, kc

this time, he lets me pick him up, and out we go to the kitty room, to the chair. he lets me pet him. takes a full 5 min, before he starts to purr. right front paw seems to be ok, no psd's. then he takes off, back to his chair under the table cloth, and sulks. he stays there for hte better part of an hr, until i finally decide he has sulked long enough.

i went and got him, took him out to the kitty room, and he ate some more, used the litter box, and he followed me upstairs and onto my bed. and he curled right up at the head end, and he has been sleeping there for hte past hr.

kc is exhausted, hes had a really rough day

oh yeah, doc says, you're hooked already, arent you?
