mess

took kc along to the station
and abt halfways thru the afternoon he was whimpering
and after bit i smelt something
and i went hunting all thru the office
high and low
in the corners
couldnt find anything
and finally the smell kind of went away

well.....
i walked outside for a bit
came back into the office
and it smelt every bit as bad
so,
i had to go hunting again
and this time i found IT
under the computer desk, and to the left
a nice big formed blob

i got a call from cathy today
the subscriptions are done
grrrrrrrrrr
now i gotta go in, pick them up
have a subs stuffing party this evening
mail them out tomorrow
and then......
process them all, as they come in
not looking forward to that at all

gonna be spending hte majority of my time at the station again
for the better part of a month

today

been a nice day today
i guess that means, boring
certainly cant complain abt my job
i had no calls today!

had a hymn sing at church this evening
am glad i went, after work

kc was certainly glad to see me this evening
running all thru the house
and jumping on my legs
attempting to trip me as i walked
thats ok, i just picked him up and cuddled him
until he was ready to hop down

impressions

several field fires today in jco
and a truck fire in the middle of the woods

not sure why so many fires, tho
it was quite cold today, and windy

went to stop with kathy after work, for supper
and of course, with spaghetti, it always navigates to my shirt
i should know by now, to bring a bib along if i eat spaghetti
(reminder to self--pst, if you want to make a good impression on someone, ry, don't suggest spaghetti as your first meal together)

kc is busy purring again
he doesnt realize he was the topic of conversation today

my aunt called this evening.
gotta help with my grandfather's 80'th bday party next wkend

oh, btw, kc is now swishing his tail in my face
every several seconds he gives a swish
he must be watching something on my back
his butt is up against my right ear
never ever thot i'd allow a cat to put his butt on my head

intrigued

i woke up twice last night, in hte middle of hte night
it was still dark
i don't normally wake up just like that
laid there for a bit, all was quiet
kc came over and curled up on top of me
and i fell back asleep

woke up again abt 7 45
got up, went to the BR, and crawled back in bed
i couldnt figure out why i had such a restless night

until i talked to R
we had a cardiac arrest/DOA last night
and they went avail abt a quarter till 8

that explains it
the pager must have woken me up, but i didnt consciously hear it
i must have fallen asleep btw the 2 pages
and gotten woken up again


i was delivering flyers for hte blood drive next wk, this afternoon
stopped at the baptist church
the pastor there always intrigues me
or, i should say, his name intrigues me
he is known as pastor God
how ironic, a pastor who's last name is God
and his wife's name will be Mrs God.

nice

had some interesting experiences while i was up north
didnt have much computer time
just enough to sorta keep caught up on md

kc behaved quite nicely
even on the ride up and down
he only pitifully meowed for 15 min, maybe
and then, layed down and slept

got my fill of chocolate for awhile
and got a lovely card
it was so sweet
almost made me sniffle
the foot rubs and back rubs were sensational
didnt get my fill of them, tho

kc of course had to sneak in on some of them

and now i am home again
life is back to the usual
work and net and kc

well, kc and i made it home, this afternoon
and right now, he's downstairs yowling
(he's a tomcat, you know)

near-catastrophe

well, here i am
the wedding was nice
a bit different than i am used to, of course
but nice
good food, interesting people

almost had a catastrophe, tho
i sat right in front of a gas heater
and apparently leaned back too far
i smelt a real faint odd smell
put my hand to the back of my head
and realized,
my covering was partially melted
and my hair was quite warm
oooops
that wouldnt have been good!

kc has been behaving too
i've been proud of him
altho just now, he found the fish tank
soo, i'm not sure if i will continue to be proud or not
we shall see

vacation

one more day of work, then i have a mini vacation
am running away
so no one can find me
of course, the heart and lung machine has to go with
thats a given
and kc is going with too
not sure, tho, if i will find enough time to post here or not
depends on the activities planned, i'm sure

v-day

well, today was valentines day

had a few valentines wishes from md folks
and a v-day wish from clinton
i made some peanut butter bars
from a box mix
did my cleaning
my bro was over, and i introduced him to md this evening

and that was the extent of my valentines day

oddities

got some snow today
not much, just a bit
but its cold

the other evening i was coming home from work
and in a 2 mile stretch,
there were 2 dead skunks on the road
apparently the skunks are waking up
well, they woke up a bit too slow and sluggish
since they got hit on the road!

kc was in a mood tonight
running all over the place
smacking into my legs

right now hes complaining abt something
and i'm not sure what
wish i knew what all he says
when he has his diff little inflections

i think he must finally be forgiving me for attempting to bath him

well, today is a better day

after an md fast today
not by choice, but by my boss' choice
and then, md being down for awhile, after i got back from work

and after being told by the doc that my hand looks quite good

i had to tell him that he does not want to know moms home remedy

and he just looked at me
and decided to agree with me
and didnt ask anymore

i soaked my hand again, this evening
and put some more salve on it
i'm pleased with it

today has not been a good day
i have been on edge all day
not sure why
i've got my suspicions
but can't prove them, yet

mom

well, mom did tonight, what she does best
trys to take care of her kids :)
no matter how old we are
mom gave me a cup of wood ashes and some homemade salve.
and of course, i had to soak my hand in "esh vahssa"
and then to put some "tseek shmea" on it.
("esh vahssa" being hot water with some wood ashes put in it,
and "tseek shmea", being homemade drawing salve)

this was on the 2 puncture wounds that kc inflicted yesterday
they were actually a bit red around them, today, and sore
we shall see what its like tomorrow

upset

I'm a bit upset at kc right now
he was playing in the heat duct while i was gone
and got himself all gray
so, i decided i would attempt to bathe him

now remember
this cat is 7 month old
and i have never bathed him before
but....
he likes to sit on the edge of the tub and watch me
and books that i have read say that cats don't like running water
so,
i figured
he's not bothered by running water, when i bath
and the time he dumped into the tub with me
he just sat there
i had to pick him out, and dry him off
i figured i wouldn't have too bad of a time
i figured he would cooperate fairly nicely
after all, he's my cat, and he's the best cat ever!

so, today, i put abt 2 inches of water in the tub
put a towel down, so he would have something to hang on
picked him up
and put him in
and he stood there for a few sec
and promptly turned around and clawed me
trying to get out
nope, ain't gonna have that
you are getting a bath

talked nicely to him a bit
put him back in the tub, on all fours
and held him there
he's breathing heavily
but stays where i put him
course, he has no choice, I'm holding him there
let one hand loose, pick up the cloth
and he squirms around
and claws me again
in an attempt to crawl up over me and away
oh, no you don't
you are gonna get a bath
(i knew i should have clipped his nails before i started)

i turn him around, hold both front legs with my hand
and hold him semi upright
as i start to wash his belly and back legs
he's squirming
not to badly
i can handle him
i tell him its ok, just gotta get him clean
and doesn't he bend his head
and bite me

KC BIT ME
he drew blood
2 puncture wounds at that

well
i let him go
and he stood at my feet
licking himself

i ran water over my hand
made it bleed

then i got a towel, and towel dried him a bit
he cooperated quite nicely
and cleaned the tub

got my salve, and doctored up my numerous claw marks
and the bite marks
came downstairs and pouted
kc is upstairs still
I'm sure he's pouting too

next time:
i will wear a long sleeved sweat shirt
i will find a pair of cloth gloves
and i might even have someone to wash him
while i hold him down

needless to say
I'm a bit upset at kc

today

i got to go 4 wheelin' again today
and go for a hike in the woods after dark
(with a bunch of guys, i might add!)
all in a days work
it was a sad situation, tho

gotta clean my boots, too
they are covered in mud, clear to my knees
and as i was scraping dried mud off of them,
i realized that they are really looking ragged
i might just have to go buy a new pair

i really need to order a few more shirts, too
i, ummm, washed them the other day,
with a dark blue skirt that had never been washed before
so now, my white uniform shirts have a bluish tint to them
but, so far, the only folks who notice it,
are the ones who i have told.
