mouse?

i told mom the other day, that i dont have mice like i did last fall
that i havent seen any evidence of them
and i attributed it to kc

well, this evening, after i came home from work, i was sitting at the table,
eating a bowl of raisin bran cereal (no sugar)
and i hear this scratching in the ceiling
sounds a lot bigger than a mouse should sound
and kc is watching the ceiling
his tail is twitching back and forth

and then after awhile, it stopped
and now that i am upstairs, in bed, i dont hear it
and i didnt see anything when i was over in the BR

kc is prowling, tho

when they were going thru, cutting off the old cable
he offered, so i said sure, i have no use for it

listened to everyone else's conversations

i did very little talking

its not that i cant talk
more along the line that i dont think that i have to be the one who's voice is heard all the time

i knew i'd been had
and of course, he and cathy were both sitting there laughing at me
i told them, they just found out how i deal with telemarketers

i need to do something abt my neck
its stiff and tight

it hurts to move it, in the morning, or after its been immobile for awhile

its acting the same way it started out, when i had a pulled muscle in my neck
at least that time i knew what i did, after i thot abt it for awhile
this time, i have no clue what i did

christmas

i took my kid along home this evening
walked in the door, and said, "i brought my child along back"
he was having fun exploring a new place

we had supper, did the dishes, then had the gift exchange
just mom dad jon and i
sure was different not to have a lot of neices and nephews around
we'll have christmas with the rest of the family, prob on new yrs day

funniest thing?
i got mom a sudoku book
and jon got me the same book
we laughed
so, mom and i were sitting there, doing sudoku for awhile, before i left

i found out why they always think my house is so cold
its cause they keep their wood stove red hot all the time
i had forgotten how warm it was at home

christmas

today has been a different christmas, than i have ever had, i believe
it certainly hasnt felt like christmas from my childhood, thats for sure
i missed out on mom's side, both today, and last evening

figured the ER would be slow and quiet today, but it was a normal day, worse than normal, almost
most folks dont want to go to the ER on a holiday
but this Christmas was different
we decided it was because folks had christmas on christmas eve, and so were bored today

i've been grumpy all day, and then some

went shopping today, felt like i was copying my dad
he always goes christmas shopping on christmas eve
and this yr, i've procrastinated abt as long as i ever have, for christmas
been hearing good things abt rich mullins, so in my travels today, i bought a cd of his
also bought an audio book, ravi zacharias, from east to west

10. mom, dad, j are coming over tomorrow evening for christmas
11. my garden this yr. it is quite nice to have food on hand, home grown from my garden
12. my neighbor plowed up the patch of yard for me, for my garden
13. my other neighbor gave me some onion sets

my computer has been acting up tonight, for some reason
right now, its behaving nicely
it just shut off on me, with no warning
and wouldn't turn back on, for half an hr, at least
it did that to me 3 times
i thot maybe it was the cord from the power supply to the computer
then thot maybe it was getting too hot
rp sent me a link that seemed to describe it
i took the keyboard off, looked at hte fan
and it didnt look dirty
so, dunno what it was trying to do

i do know that i was practically beside myself
what am i going to do without my hrt and lung machine?

cathy and i took jill out to lunch today
and jill told me
when chris found out that i was going to lunch with you 2, she said to make sure to tell you that she is always glad to hear your voice on the other end of hte phone, (when cathy isnt here). she knows the transports will get handled, and that you will call her back

i had an interesting occurence today, too
sports injury
i get there, the girl is packaged,

bls picks her up, puts her on the litter
we start off the court
and everyone starts clapping
twas quite the experience, i must say
oh, and buckethead was on the crew in his army uniform
first i've seen him in uniform

after i got home, i decided to do surgery on my laptop
the period key wasnt working anymore, so i decided its time to dig all that kc hair out from under hte keys
got it all ripped apart
and the pager goes
i wait until 2nd dispatch, then decide i need to go

its a group home
and i looked at this one woman
and did a double take
ai is in my coverage area

but, at least i got to take a run with lwd
felt like old times, him and i on a call together

2 20 oz of mt dew
in 4 hrs time

800 mg of ibuprofen

works wonders for dehydration/pms/nausea
i feel like a new woman

i worked today
but that being said, i also was quite domesticated

i beeped ang to see if she would work a few hrs for me on fri 29th, and she says sure
and then she asked if i'm bored?
want to come down to the church and help me make supper?
so i did

twas funny, she was baking 2 cakes
and wasnt sure if they were done or not
so i said to the lady who was checking them
listen to it
and i got the funniest looks from everyone
and exclamations of what do you mean?
just listen to it
if its done, you'll hear it crackle
so i pulled it out, listened to it
yup, its done
and she listened, and you're right, i hear it!
and that means its done?
uh huh
and so that earned me the title of chef for the rest of the afternoon

neat thing was, all those times i helped hte ladies at the fc stood me in good stead today
cause ang hadnt ever cooked for that many folks before

i told ang she had plenty of pasta, didnt need to make the rest of it
i hope i didnt steer her wrong
she'll kill me if i did
i'll never hear the end of it

and then, came back to central
and yetter starts talking abt his jumpsuit that he got
and is putting reflective tape on it
and can he open up the seam and sew it in that way?
well, yeah, you can do that
so he brought it in, and i sat there and showed him how to open up the seam

i was really putting my menno roots to good use today
i guess those roots must be deeper than i thot they might be

cookies

i was busy this evening
i baked cookies
choc chip cookies, a double batch
and i made pineapple cookies, too
never heard of pineapple cookies
but as i was searching for something else to make, i found that recipe
and so i made them
they turned out really good

and just as i was finishing up the choc chip cookies,
mixing up the crisco and sugar for the pineapple cookies
the phone rang
can you come out and get an absentee ballot for andy?
(oh good grief, NO, i dont want to)
ok, give me a few min until i take my cookies out of the oven

and i ran in, got andy absenteed voted
and came right back home

opened up the door
and smelled cookies
yum
twas almost worth going in to the amb building
just to come home and smell my cookies

i've got lots of cookies
prob abt 15 dozen

odd

well, yahoo messenger is down for scheduled maintenance
its sorta odd, to not have that option available

i work in the morning again
thats 4 days in a row
that'll be 60 hrs in this wk alone
and then i have one day off and work 2 more
thats working 6 12 hr days out of 7
waaaahhhhh

guess i'm paying for all the vacation time i had in november

i go to jco in hte morning
i talked d into switching hosp for jco
i'll be able to get reaquainted with my chair

entertainment

kc kept me entertained for a good 15 min this evening
he jumped in the tub, when i turned the water on, (which he normally does
and then stands halfways back, and very soon, jumps back out)

this evening, he got brave
and practically stuck his nose in the stream of water
so, i turned it down to just above a trickle
and sat there and watched him

he'd bat at the water coming from the faucet
then shake his paw off
then bat at it again, shake his paw off
then he'd bite at the water
and clean his face
and as soon as his face was clean to his specs
he'd bite at the water again
and shake his head when he got his whiskers wet
and go back to batting at the stream
he'd open his paw, and swat at the water
bring it up to his mouth, and clean it off
and bat it again

finally i had to move him, so that i could continue on with my own shower
